We have an exciting opportunity for two exceptional Nurse/AHP leaders who want to make a difference, supporting and developing our new clinical divisions here at WWL. The Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing & AHP’s is a key member of the senior Nursing, Midwifery, and AHP (NMAHP) team whose kind and compassionate approach will allow them to act as a role model for outstanding clinical leadership and management of all NMAHP staff within their division.

This post is open to both Nurses and AHPs and we will consider a developmental role at a Band 8b for the right candidate(s). There are two linked vacancies to represent the Nursing and Allied Health Professional workforce. You do not need to apply to both adverts — a single application will be reviewed for both vacancies.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of the Divisional Senior Management Team working closely with the Divisional Director of Operations, Divisional Directors of Nursing/ AHPs, Divisional Medical Director, Deputy Divisional Directors of Operations and Deputy Divisional Medical Directors, playing a key role in ensuring the provision of quality care, governance, leadership and delivery of the nursing, midwifery, therapy and care staff strategy.
The post holder will have an integral role in supporting the Divisional Director of Nursing/ AHP in developing and implementing the Trust’s strategy. This will be in accordance with patient needs, national and local priorities and professional codes of conduct. The post holder will be responsible for representing the Division as the deputy for the Divisional Director of Nursing/ AHP in their absence. The post holder will support the Divisional Directors of Nursing and AHPs in ensuring the implementation of Trust policies and strategy designed to achieve quality in healthcare including Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding Children and Adults, Reduction of Avoidable Harm and Equality and Diversity.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·Contribute to and participate in the development of the Division’s strategic objectives.
· Actively promote and contribute to Nursing/Midwifery and AHP leadership and development within the Division and Trust.
·Support the Divisional Directors of Nursing and AHPs with implementing the delivery of the Nursing/Midwifery AHP strategic objectives, Infection Prevention and Control, Harm Free Care, Governance and regulatory requirements and adherence to nursing/midwifery and AHP codes of conduct.
·Support the Divisional Directors of Nursing and AHPs, and lead in their absence, for the Division for patient experience and user involvement.
·Contribute to the delivery of key performance indicators within the Division and the Trust.
·First line management of divisional matrons, advanced clinical practitioners and clinical service leads.
·Development and completion of business cases for the Division.
·Undertake on call management responsibilities.
·Deputise for the Divisional Director of Nursing and AHPs in their absence.
·Undertake investigations into issues/ complaints/ concerns raised by patients/ families or staff and provide resolution where practicably possible.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse or Registered AHP with current NMC/HCPC registration
2. Degree in nursing/AHP/health related subject or relevant experience
3. Masters degree or working towards or relevant experience
Desirable criteria
4. RSCN/RM Leadership qualification
5. Management qualification
6. Concise investigation training
Experience

7. Significant experience at a senior nurse/AHP level including strategy development and budgetary control
8. Evidence of effective clinical leadership
9. Evidence of high level of professional credibility

Skills

14. Proven experience of leading and delivering teams /services that deliver improved outcomes and Track record of meeting organisational targets

16. Evidence of recent relevant experience of leading and shaping the nursing/ midwifery/allied health profession and care staff agenda.
