We are looking for a Personal Assistant / Carer to join our support team in looking after our daughter. Experience in tracheostomy and NG tube feeding would be an advantage but not essential. Certified training will be provided for the right candidate.
The position is for 10 hours, night-time waking shifts, looking after a 4-year-old girl. She has a tracheostomy (no vent) and may require suctioning overnight.
Daytime school shifts (8 hours a day) are also required to accompany her to school.
You will be part of a team and will be required to work on a day or night shift on a 4-week rota.
The child sleeps mostly throughout the night and is happy, bubbly and a bundle of joy and is very much loved.
You will receive:
1. Rate starting from £13.50 – £15.50 per hour
2. Time and a half for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day
3. A pension if eligible
4. 5.6 weeks holiday per year pro rata
5. Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
Hours available:
6. 20-40 hours a week (2-to-4-night shifts) and/or up to 40 hours a week, day shifts
7. There is the opportunity to work additional hours on occasions in relation to holidays and sickness.
What’s Required:
8. Provide assistance with all aspects of personal care, such as bathing, dressing, nappy changing, cleaning and maintaining equipment etc.
9. Being able to carry out a waking shift, staying fully alert and vigilant.
10. Flexibility in working hours is essential to cover other team members
11. Weekend night work is essential and paid extra.
12. Some shifts over public holidays (eg Christmas) will be required. This is shared with other team members.
13. Accompanying and assisting in school during term time.
14. The use of a suction machine, nebuliser and feed pump through NG tube is required.
