About the Role
Little Waves Community Nursery is a 22 place neighbourhood nursery for children aged 0-4 years old based on Windwhistle Primary School site. Our community nursery meets the needs of the children and their families of the Bournville, Coronation and Oldmixon areas of Weston-super-Mare. Little Waves Community Nursery is a Local Authority nursery with a Good Ofsted judgement with a happy and professional team dedicated to being the very best – this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our aspirational team.
We are looking for an inspirational, professional early years practitioner who will understand and value the importance of providing outstanding learning and care in a fun, safe environment, giving all children a positive and successful start in life. They will need to be a strong team player who can also demonstrate initiative, nurture and joy. They will be friendly, passionate, reflective and committed to delivering an outstanding child centred approach to early years in keeping with Little Waves ethos.
This is a permanent, term time only position, for 30hours per week.
About you:
The successful candidate will need:
* Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years and Care
* English and Maths GSCE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
* Experience of working in an Early Years environment and providing outstanding care and provision
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* The ability to build relationships and work in partnership with children and families
* The practitioner will share the settings passion about children’s learning and have a strong knowledge of the EYFS including the ability to plan to support individuals’ progress.
* Knowledge and understanding of both child protection/safeguarding and working
inclusively with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
Little Waves community nursery is one of the three local authority maintained nurseries in North Somerset. We are unique and privileged to work in close partnership with the early years team under the education branch of the council and a variety of other agencies.
