Teaching Personnel are delighted to be supporting a specialist therapeutic residential school in Oxfordshire, renowned for its trauma-informed approach to education and care.
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect, helping them to re-engage with learning through integrated therapeutic care, treatment, and education. The Role
We are seeking a temporary SENCO to lead the school’s SEN provision during an interim period. The successful candidate will:
* Lead all aspects of special educational needs provision across the school.
* Chair and manage EHCP annual reviews, PEP reviews, and other SEN meetings.
* Oversee in-class SEN support and targeted interventions.
* Line manage the SEN Assistant and liaise with external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Social Workers.
* Act as Designated Teacher for Looked After Children.
* Teach and lead interventions where required.

Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and at least three years’ successful teaching experience.
* Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Reflective, resilient, and committed to trauma-informed practice.
* SENCO qualification (or willingness to undertake) desirable.
