An exiting opportunity has arisen to join the Data Development team as a Data Development lead.
Reporting to the Data Development and Assurance Manager, you will be an integral part of the Information and Business Intelligence function and will be responsible for leading and facilitating, the scoping, analysis, design, development and delivery of the activities required for the successful deployment of the Trust’s Information digital roadmap and associated programmes.
To excel in this role you should have expert knowledge in NHS data standards, along with technical and analytical experience to assist with the development of the data flows and data warehousing.
You would also benefit from having, some application / system knowledge and experience as you will be required to understand technical requirements be able to communicate clearly with other stakeholders and users.
Main duties of the job
Please note - the duties in the post are currently being reviewed as part of the team restructure and may be subject to change.
It is expected that the post holder will manage concurrent projects and resources independently and proactively, working through all allocated projects with autonomy and take all necessary decisions to see the technical aspects of projects through to a satisfactory conclusion. Updating own workload in project logs, to ensure all adhoc work is logged, updated and closed as appropriate.
To devise, manage, update and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring the adoption of best practice methodology, rules, standards and thresholds.
To co-ordinate the development and improvement of current data flows to the Trust’s data warehouses/lake. To ensure all relevant data is available to the wider Information team to maximise reporting ability.
To be responsible for the Trusts Data warehouse Scheme, ensure all changes are documented, version control is maintained and is distributed appropriately.
To be responsible for the Data warehouse audit plan, including undertaking audits, carrying out random spot checks of areas and reporting on the findings where required and to provide assurance of complete and accurate data flows.
To work closely with the other functions within the Information department to ensure reports and patients clinical information is accurate.

Develop relationships and influence to ensure ownership of improvement projects are achieved and that supportive and sustainable frameworks are put in place.
Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained between work streams and transformation programme managers and senior team.
Engage key stakeholders (including executive sponsors) and service users in the change process and empower them to influence and own the outcomes.
Able to receive, process, summarise, interpret and effectively communicate highly complex, sensitive and contentious information where there are barriers to acceptance and resistance to change in a highly pressurised environment.
Attend meetings both internally & externally on behalf of the department. Demonstrate a high level of positive and constructive communication between staff. Ensure processes exist for effective communication with all staff, irrespective of working patterns and that staff involvement in decision making is positively encouraged.
The post holder may be required to travel across all sites for the purpose of meetings and training.

3. Proven track record of working within an Informatics environment within Acute NHS Services
4. Experience of successfully planning, developing and implementing changes to services, systems or processes.
5. Experience in Data Warehousing and data flows
6. Expert in T-SQL scripting languages and Power BI acquired through training and experience
Desirable criteria
7. Experience of Project and Programme Management – planning complex multi-dimensional projects and programmes; prioritising, adapting plans, resource planning, stakeholder management and benefits identification, delivery and tracking
Knowledge
Essential criteria
8. In depth knowledge and understanding of NHS Data Dictionary, information standards and Key Targets and Trust clinical systems with the ability of interpreting national guidance
9. Highly developed specialist knowledge of data collection and analysis within an Acute Hospital Trust to design and develop reports.
