<div><p>Areyou an experienced and highly organised operational leader with a passion fordelivering excellent patient services in primary care?</p><p>Weare looking for a proactive and people-focused Deputy Practice Manager to joinour outstanding-rated GP practice in the beautiful village of Combe Down, Bath.This is a key leadership role within our management team, with responsibilityfor the day-to-day operational running of the practice, ensuring high-quality,efficient, and patient-centred services.</p><p>Thisis an exciting opportunity to take on a senior operational leadership rolewithin a high-performing and supportive practice. Youll be part of a strongmanagement team, with the opportunity to shape how services are delivered andmake a real difference to both patients and staff.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>As Deputy Practice Manager, you will take lead responsibility for the operational management of the practice, ensuring services run smoothly, efficiently, and deliver an excellent patient experience.</p><p>You will oversee our Care Navigation and Administration teams, and lead on rota management and patient access. You will ensure services are responsive, well-organised, and continuously improving, while supporting and developing front-line teams.</p><p>Working closely with and supporting the Practice Managerwho leads on strategy, finance, facilities, HR and complianceyou will focus on delivery, people management, and operational performance.</p><p>This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about leading teams and improving systems.</p><ul><li>Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours), between 07451830 with at least one late finish a week Based At Combe Down Surgery, with one day at Odd Down Surgery and potential for one working-from-home day after probation</li><li>Salary: £18.00 £20.00 per hour, depending on experience</li><li>Benefits: NHS pension, supportive team environment, opportunities for development</li></ul><h3>About us</h3><p>We are a thriving, well-established GP practice serving 14,000 patients across two sites, and part of the high-performing Minerva PCN. With a team of over 60 staff, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent care while supporting staff wellbeing in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.</p><h3>Job responsibilities</h3><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p>Operational Leadership</p><ul><li>Lead the day-to-day running of the practice across both sites</li><li>Ensure smooth delivery of reception, administration, and patient services</li><li>Oversee appointment systems, rotas, and capacity planning</li><li>Monitor and improve patient access, demand, and service delivery</li></ul><p>People Management</p><ul><li>Line manage the Care Navigation and Administration Managers</li><li>Provide day-to-day HR support, including absence management, staff support, and performance monitoring</li><li>Support recruitment, induction, and training processes</li><li>Foster a positive, supportive, and high-performing team culture</li><li>Lead on patient access and service improvement initiatives</li><li>Manage and respond to complaints and patient feedback, escalating where appropriate</li><li>Support patient engagement, including PPG and Friends groups</li></ul><p>Systems & Process Improvement</p><ul><li>Continuously review and improve operational systems and workflows</li><li>Ensure effective use of clinical systems (e.g. SystmOne)</li><li>Support implementation of new ways of working and service developments</li></ul><p>Deputising & Support</p><ul><li>Deputise for the Practice Manager</li><li>Support delivery of wider practice objectives and projects</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Experience working in primary care or a healthcare setting</li><li>Strong operational management and organisational skills</li><li>Proven experience in team leadership and people management</li><li>Confident problem-solver with the ability to prioritise in a busy environment</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Experience with clinical systems such as SystmOne (desirable)</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p><h3>Contract</h3><p>Permanent</p><h3>Working pattern</h3><p>Full-time,Flexible working,Compressed hours</p></div>
