Platform engineer

Salary: £75,000 - 85,000 per year Requirements: Strong, deep expertise with the Kong Konnect API Platform. Advanced AWS ecosystem knowledge, including EC2, NLB, API Gateway, and ASG. Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially CloudFormation or Terraform. Experience with Jenkins, including multibranch pipelines and Groovy scripting. Experience with GitHub Actions. Strong skills in Python, Chef, and Linux command-line troubleshooting. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TLS, routing, VPNs, and edge platforms such as Cloudflare. 8–10 years of engineering experience, with a proven track record as a Senior Platform Engineer. Strong communication and collaboration skills with developers and product teams. Based in or commutable to Leeds, with the ability to work onsite 3 days a week and travel occasionally to London. Current, active SC Clearance is mandatory. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain highly efficient, reusable, and reliable AWS platform solutions. Implement advanced CI/CD frameworks to support secure and rapid deployments. Work closely with cross-functional product teams, including designers, product managers, and analysts. Bridge the gap between development and infrastructure. Author clear procedures and policies to standardise and future-proof system infrastructure. Provide engineering insights to Strategy & Architecture teams to help shape technical direction.
