We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Director to lead growth initiatives across our engineering and automation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installation and maintenance, Control Automation, or Process Automation, and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth.
This is an exciting role with an opportunity to input significantly into the and growth of MARCH customer base.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and lead pipeline growth and conversion on an individual basis and through customer facing teams.
* Contribute to a 10% organic growth target per annum.
* Manage retention and the growth of the MARCH existing customer base.
* Focus on revenue expansion within a defined sector or sectors.
* Drive the cross sell of “MARCH Integrated solutions” to maximise revenue across existing customers and new customers gained via acquisitions.
* Leverage revenue synergies through evaluation of opportunities and engagement with MARCH acquisitions sales functions.
* Identify, target, and win new customers both individually and in collaboration with the operational teams.
* Evaluate current pricing strategies and introduce costing innovation processes to increase MARCH profitability from both existing and new customers.
* Work collaboratively with all MARCH functions to ensure our design and delivery methodologies are of the highest standard.
* Utilise CRM & Power BI reporting applications to evaluate and report on a range of sales performance and finance metrics.
skills and experiences
* 5 years plus senior business development and or sales leadership experience within an engineering services organisation.
* A background in specialist M&E installation and maintenance or Control automation and or Process automation is desirable.
* An inspirational sales professional who leads from the front and thrives on creating success through other business functions but also drives revenue growth via direct client engagement.
* Worked within a dynamic growth focussed business environment.
* Demonstrable track record of winning new customers and growing revenue from existing customers across multiple market verticals.
* Experience of creating and winning contracts via cross company integrated service solutions.
* Has led major bid and proposal models up to a value of £20m.
* Experience of working in multi sited organisations and understands the benefit of internal networking to deliver success in their role.
* An engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Microsoft application proficient – Experience of CRM utilisation and Power BI as forecasting and reporting tools.
* Worked in markets that contain the following characteristics.
