Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Clinical Specialist Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care Service and make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.
Reporting to the Locality Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist social work expertise within the Learning Disabilities and Autism Team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Undertaking assessments and reviews, and providing person-centred support plans
2. Offering expert advice and guidance to colleagues, service users, and their families
3. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners to ensure coordinated care
4. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults
5. Contributing to the development and implementation of service improvements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
6. Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration
7. Extensive experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism
8. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practice
9. Ability to effectively assess, plan, and deliver high-quality support
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach
11. Excellent organisational and time management abilities

19. You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
