Overview
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the UK’s largest acute teaching Trusts. Our Maternity Services offer a full spectrum of care for women and families, from midwifery‑led birthing units to specialised neonatal care. As a midwife you will work across two hospitals and the community, gaining experience in Delivery Suite, community, ante‑natal services and inpatient areas through an accelerated preceptorship programme.
Responsibilities
* Communication and Collaboration – Promote excellent patient care, participate in decision‑making, drive transformation, advocate for women and service users, and be a powerful voice for women‑centred care.
* Clinical Care – Provide advocacy for women and service users, support colleagues, adhere to guidelines and policies, prioritise resources efficiently, and continuously assess and improve care delivery.
* Personal and Professional Conduct – Role model for junior staff, manage personal development, encourage others, and comply with Health and Safety, drug administration, incident reporting, infection control, safeguarding and patient property protocols.
* Research and Education – Take part in clinical audits, trials and evidence‑based practice; mentor both qualified and unqualified staff, including student midwives, assist with staff orientation and return‑to‑practice preceptorship.
