As a Housing Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll support Lewisham’s Housing Services in achieving the highest standards of safety for residents, staff, and properties. Working closely with a range of stakeholders, you’ll bring your expertise to improve compliance, develop best practices, and foster a positive safety culture across the Housing Directorate.

* Provide expert advice and support to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Develop and implement policies, strategies, and practices for statutory compliance.
* Collaborate with teams to conduct risk assessments and recommend effective actions.
* Promote learning and training opportunities to embed a safety-first culture.
* Represent the Housing Health and Safety team at quarterly meetings and through stakeholder reports.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking to fill one permanent position and one fixed-term position (18 months). You’ll have:
* Proven experience in a health and safety advisory role, ideally in social housing or local government.
* A NEBOSH National Diploma or General/Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
* Technical or graduate membership of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
* A track record of delivering results in fast-paced, challenging environments.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions
* A NEBOSH National Diploma or General/Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
* Technical or graduate membership of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH).
Interview process
Please note that if you are shortlisted, there will be a two-step interview process. The first step involves a 15-minute phone call with the panel members. The second step is an in-person assessment on the day of the interview, which will take approximately 20 minutes to complete, followed by the interview.

Salary
£44,430 - £46,437 per annum (PO2). All appointments will be at the minimum SCP for the role, unless matching current salary with proof.
