Staff Nurse, Frimley Park Hospital
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse to join our dedicated Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Frimley Park Hospital. Our purpose-built unit provides specialist care for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, and occasionally for those with other respiratory conditions. The unit comprises five inpatient rooms and five outpatient consultation rooms, offering a unique setting where you can develop specialist skills while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job
* With minimal supervision, be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients needs
* To assist in promotion of health
* Demonstrate sound knowledge of infection control standards and promote these within a unit environment
* To participate and assist in the systematic monitoring and evaluation of nursing care
* To liaise with the team leaders on untoward incidents ,complaints and team/staff issues
* To act in accordance with the trust policies
* To maintain your own profile
* To act as a mentor to care assistants and assist in the induction of new staff
* To support maintain team nursing, promoting good working relationship s within the MDT and internal and external contacts
* To attend meetings and generate new ideas and initiatives
* To attend mandatory updates in Fire, manual handling and blood transfusion
* To act as nurse in charge of the unit, co-ordinating admissions, transfers and discharges
* To ensure confidentiality or patients information regarding patients, families and friends at all time

Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse level 1
* Current NMC registration
Desirable criteria
* BSC Nursing
Experience
Essential criteria
* Some experience working in an acute hospital trust within the last 2 years in the capacity of a registered nurse or student nurse
Desirable criteria
* Recent experience working with adults with long term respiratory conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma and COPD
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Ability to provide nursing care of high standard
* Ability to prioritise workload for self and support staff
* Able to raise issues of clinical care with peers, doctors and line management
* Self motivated and able to motivate others
* Competent in IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture
