About this role:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, HR to provide HR partnership and consultation to Gartner’s UK + Ireland locations. This role will lead as a local HR Country Manager for the UK + Ireland and as a HR Business Partner to a client group to ensure Gartner can successfully hire, develop, and retain top talent in these key locations.
1. Country Manager - Provide local expertise to guide best practices and ensure legal compliance in support of people programs and processes. Lead internal communications for the UK + Ireland, acting as a focal point for people announcements, policies and procedures. Proactively manage legal risk and continually ensure compliance with local labor laws considering the whole life cycle of an associate. Build and maintain effective, credible partnerships to educate HR Partners, managers and associates on a variety of employee related issues. Be a partner for the HR Partner community on associate initiatives.
2. Employee Relations – Identify and mitigate risks, promote associate engagement, and contribute to the development of a strong organizational culture and well-being. Minimize risk to organization by actively responding to and addressing associate concerns in a timely manner. Conduct complete investigations and make recommendations based on findings/facts. Collaborate with legal and the ER COE as needed to address complex or highly sensitive issues, such as tribunals.
3. Workforce Planning – Strategic Advisor – Deep understanding of employment law and company policy to ensure all organizational design decisions comply with legal requirements and company procedures. Guide managers and associates, or their representatives, through the consultation process, providing clear information about proposed changes and their implications. Advise and coach managers on how to manage complex issues and conduct difficult conversations.
4. Recruitment & Retention – Partner with Recruiting to ensure a conscious, deliberate approach to attracting and retaining top talent from both inside and outside the organization.
What you’ll need:
5. Undergraduate degree strongly preferred; graduate degree(s) in related fields ideal
6. Progressive HR experience in international organizations (ideally American HQ) whilst working on regional projects
7. CIPD qualification strongly preferred (Level 5+).
8. Advanced employee relations experience - following ACAS guidelines - to include performance management, investigations, consultations.
9. Experience of working in a data driven environment leveraging strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to identify areas of opportunity and design and deliver HR programs and strategies that effectively address business issues.
10. Proven HR Business Partner skills including employee relations, employment law, employee engagement, succession planning, comp, performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, and training and development.
11. Exceptional judgment and discretion; ability to manage highly sensitive situations effectively
12. Ability to influence leaders and collaborate across the organization
13. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
