Picker / Material handler Location: Heysham Shift Pattern: Rotating weekly - Week 1: 08:00-16:00 | Week 2: 09:30-17:30Contract Type: temporary Full-Time Hourly Rate: £12.65
we're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Picker/Material Handler to join a dynamic warehouse team in Heysham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for quality and a proactive approach to logistics and operations.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth handling of UK and export shipments, maintaining compliance with transport regulations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately pick UK and export shipments using provided pick lists.
Follow packing and labelling instructions in line with transport regulations.
Collate and load export shipments, ensuring all paperwork is completed.
Work confidently with third-party systems (e.g., courier services, MSDS)
Maintain stock levels of consumables and manage requisitions.
Operate trained equipment and report any defects or issues.
Keep records and paperwork up to date.
Adhere to site security, environmental, and quality policies.
Observe health and safety procedures at all times.
Engage in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities.
Perform additional duties as reasonably required.
Experience:
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable.
Forklift license/training is a strong advantage.

Comfortable using computers and recording data accurately.
