Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified, experienced Counsellor to join the Staff Support Counselling Service based at Airbus, Broughton, North Wales. This is a busy, highly effective and respected service offering CBT and short-term brief therapy/counselling support to staff within the organisation. This unique service means employment within the NHS but providing a private contract service to Airbus as an organisation. You will hold and manage your own caseload, providing assessment and treatment for clients. Clinical supervision is provided within the post and CPD actively supported to ensure accreditation and therapeutic practice remain at a level of excellence and adhere to good practice. You will have a key role and contribute to the smooth running of the support service; ensuring clinical quality is assured and adherence to BACP's code of ethics and practice as well as At Risk Protocols. This is a permanent part-time post for 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and counselling services to staff using the service.
* Provide a triage clinic; decide on the suitability of new referrals, assess risk, and refer unsuitable clients to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
* Formulate and implement plans for counselling and/or brief therapy.
* Organise own caseload, take professional responsibility and exercise autonomous judgement with regard to professional practice; manage time-limited interventions in accordance with service level agreements/policies.
* Undertake individual and group de-briefing of staff following a serious incident with relevant Senior Managers.
* Undertake risk screening of relevant clients and refer to specialist services where risk is identified.
* Liaise with Occupational Health staff and others concerned with staff well-being, subject to individual consent.
* Provide advice and consultation on staff care as appropriate.
Management, Recruitment, Policy and Service Development
* Contribute to the development of staff counselling and support services through departmental/service meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Diploma level training in counselling; BACP accredited (or relevant professional body); Member of BACP or other relevant professional body.
* Desirable: Additional brief therapy qualification (e.g., CBT); Supervision qualification.
* Essential experience: Experience of assessment and brief counselling interventions with clients; supervised clinical experience of at least 500 hours; experience in an occupational health setting; at least 2 years of supervised brief work with adult clients with mild-moderate psychological problems.
* Desirable experience: Liaison with other professionals; managing referrals and waiting lists.
