MRJ Associates are working on behalf of our client Enfield Council who are recruiting for Business Support officer within the Local Authority paying up to £20.00ph.
YOUR NEW CONTRACT
* Minimum 3 Months contract - Starting ASAP
* 36 hours per week across a 5-day rota.
* Payrate up to £20.00 per hour (Umbrella)
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
Provide high quality and comprehensive technical and administrative support to a team or service in relation to any of the functions undertaken.
To assist the Council in the delivery of its day-to-day business within the Waste and Street Scene Services Sections, helping to maintain the Council’s reputation of delivering a high standard/quality service.
Provide an effective, efficient and customer focused service in line with Corporate Policies and within national and local legislative requirements.
To Monitor service improvements and customer behaviours, providing insight and analysis on performance, allowing the departments to achieve excellent customer focussed service delivery and continual improvement.
To keep knowledge up to date with developments in the professional field and modify service practise accordingly.
To provide support, the Waste & Street Cleansing services implementing all necessary training to ensure the service are compliant with legislative and Council requirements.
Assisting with daily allocation staff record keeping, agency placements, staff leave requests highlighting.
Ordering and control of stock for service needs including PPE, ensuring, the service stays with the allocated budget.
Actively champion continuous improvement and the implementation of automation and efficient ways of working.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for delivering to a high standard the business support menus to ensure effective operation of the services. Including but not limited to data entry and analysis, record keeping, customer care focused reception duties, panel, meeting and event support, and understanding service specific administrative tasks
* Manage performance effectively to meet goals and targets and work to required deadlines, adhering to Departmental and Council policies, procedures and systems always
* Use relevant databases, in the course of normal duties, to include data input, data interrogation as directed
* Maintain up to date knowledge to ensure effective utilisation of IT systems used
* Ensure data and records are maintained in accordance with agreed standards and in keeping with the Data Protection/Freedom of Information regulations including the regular housekeeping of computerised and paper information following document management processes
* Organise and prioritise allocated workload as appropriate, keeping team managers aware of demands which may impact on targets/deadlines and service standard
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
* Working within a business support environment delivering high quality services
* Strong IT/Technical skills, knowledge of excel / Microsoft/ operating systems
* Strong communication skills and experience
* Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team, manage conflicting work pressures and use own initiative in an increasingly pressurised environment and work to agreed deadlines.
* Record and analysis data on performance, allowing the departments to achieve excellent customer focussed service delivery and continual improvement
* Demonstrate commitment to deliver a high quality of service to identify and help remove barriers to the service and deliver customer focussed solutions
