Building Surveying Manager – East Anglia, Local Authority
£47,181 per annum

Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveying Manager to join a local authority in East Anglia. The successful candidate will lead a team of Chartered and technical professionals, delivering a high-quality, customer-focused building surveying service across housing assets.
Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of Building Surveyors and Technical Officers, overseeing allocation, programming, and quality assurance of all works.
* Lead on complex capital and maintenance projects, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters.
* Oversee compliance with statutory regulations including Health & Safety, CDM, and Building Regulations.
* Develop and implement service improvement initiatives and policy frameworks to drive best practice.
* Manage major procurement projects, prepare specifications, and oversee tendering processes.
* Monitor significant budgets and report to senior management on performance, risk, and programme delivery.
* Act as professional lead in resolving disputes and customer complaints, ensuring continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
* Chartered Membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or working towards.
* Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex construction projects.
* Strong working knowledge of construction legislation, H&S, and procurement processes.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Local authority or social housing experience desirable.
