Distinct is supporting a well-established Leicestershire business recruit an Interim Finance Business Partner for an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for the role to become permanent.
This is a broad, commercially focused opportunity at the heart of the organisation’s sales and commercial operations. The role will partner closely with commercial teams, providing financial insight, challenge, and support on profitability, pricing, customer performance, and rebate management.
The position would suit someone who enjoys operating across both the detail and the bigger picture — someone comfortable working with complex data and systems, while also influencing stakeholders and supporting commercial decision-making.
The Role
You will take ownership of customer rebate oversight across multiple product areas, while also delivering meaningful commercial insight to support performance and profitability.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating and overseeing significant customer rebate arrangements and trading agreements
* Ensuring rebate calculations, reporting, and controls are robust and commercially sound
* Partnering with commercial and sales teams to provide insight around profitability, pricing and customer performance
* Producing analysis on sales, volumes, margins, and pricing trends
* Supporting “what-if” scenario modelling and commercial decision-making
* Reviewing product costs and key commercial drivers to improve visibility and understanding across the business
* Working with data and reporting tools, including BI systems, to extract, validate and analyse information
* Driving improvements in reporting quality, process efficiency, and financial visibility
* Supporting the transition of rebate administration processes while retaining overall commercial oversight
About You
* Experience within commercial finance, FP&A, or finance business partnering roles
* Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
* Confidence working with large datasets and BI/reporting systems
* Experience supporting pricing, profitability, or customer analysis
* A hands‑on approach, happy to get into the detail
* Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or product‑led environments would be advantageous, particularly where product costing and margin analysis form a key part of the role
