Our client, a leading force within their chosen sector, has a key opening within their group finance team for a technically strong finance professional with a consolidation skillset.
The principal purpose of the role is to ensure the timely production of high-quality group consolidated monthly financial and management accounts, which are regularly reviewed by the senior executive team. Additionally, the successful candidate will champion the implementation of a new ERP system.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Run the main group close process and produce the monthly group consolidated management accounts, including reviewing and analyzing intercompany reports, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and reviewing group cash flows.
2. Prepare statutory accounts for legacy group entities, including audited consolidated accounts, ensuring all statutory filing deadlines are met.
3. Simplify and eliminate elements of the previous holding structure, including offsetting intercompany loan balances and instruments.
4. Work closely with the Group Tax Manager to assess tax implications of structural changes and maximize tax efficiencies.
5. Produce quarterly forecast group consolidated management accounts, annual budgets, and strategic forecasts.
6. Review monthly financial submissions from operating businesses, liaising with colleagues to ensure compliance with group policies.
7. Review the monthly management report for senior executives.
8. Prepare monthly financial reporting packs for the Head Office.
9. Collaborate with the Group Management Accountant and Group System Accountant to develop reporting input schedules and templates to improve data accuracy.
10. Work with and challenge the CFO to continually improve the quality of management accounting and reporting.
11. Provide deliverables for the annual and interim external audits.
The successful candidate will be professionally qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a proven track record of producing group consolidated management accounts. They will have experience with IFRS accounting and be able to provide multiple examples of adding value within a complex private equity-funded setup.
