This role supports a major transformation in how HSEW is delivered across the organisation, moving from compliance to an ethical, outcome‑focused approach. As a HSE Manager, you'll play a key part in engaging suppliers, supporting operations, and strengthening safety culture across one of our client's highest‑risk areas.
Key Details
* Location:
Hybrid, frequent supplier site visits (preferred: Newbury)
* Rate:
£500 per day (inside IR35)
* Contract Length:
3 months (with visibility to extend)
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of our client's new HSEW Vision across operations, wellbeing, environment, and safety.
* Engage and manage mechanical and electrical suppliers, ensuring high levels of assurance and safe delivery.
* Provide operational "assurance over assurance," supporting one of the company's highest‑risk business areas.
* Produce clear risk assessments, incident insights, dashboards, and leadership reporting.
* Assist with incident investigations and drive learning, change, and improvement activities.
* Contribute to HSEW governance, management system standards, policies, and procedures.
* Prepare and deliver high‑quality presentations, reports, and communications for leadership teams.
Key Requirements
* HSE experience within utilities, construction or similar environments.
* Level 5/6 NVQ or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (environmental qualification beneficial).
* Strong stakeholder and supplier management capability, with excellent communication skills.
* Adaptable, proactive, and confident working in a fast‑paced, change‑heavy environment.
* Ability to work independently, influence effectively, and build strong relationships at all levels.
* Chartered IOSH membership (or working towards) preferred.
* Driving Licence: Required
