The Role
* This role will see you be responsible for managing maintenance and refurbishment projects to lifts and other mechanical and electrical assets across various academic and research buildings across the University estate. Management of annual maintenance contract spend of circa £3m.
* You will act as the primary day to day Client interface with the lift maintenance contractor.
* You will have the responsibility for ensuring that the terms of the contracts are complied with and that services are delivered to the required standards.
* You will be accountable for the performance of the lift and other contracts, including continual monitoring of CAFM system data, KPI performance, response and rectification times and other key performance metrics.
* As part of this role you will develop and implement strategies for improving the performance and value of maintenance and compliance activities.
* You will work collaboratively with the Health and Safety team, Building Surveying and Programme Delivery teams as well as the Statutory Compliance Team as well as other members of the Asset Management section.
About You
In order to succeed in this role, you will need to be an experienced mechanical and electrical engineer with a proven track record of successfully delivering maintenance and refurbishment projects to complex, highly serviced buildings.
* You are able to demonstrable experience of managing maintenance contracts for multiple buildings.
* As well as this you have experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance and statutory compliance activities.
* For this role you will need strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills which will help you with your ability to work within a team, plan and manage work activities, communicate and prioritise workloads.
* Qualifications
* It would be great if you had a relevant qualifications within Industry Sector, e.g. IWFM, IAM, IET and/ or an appropriate Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Engineering or Substantial vocational experience suitable for the role.
