Job Description:
Manpower is seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, known for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. This role is part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. It is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, between £30,800 - £35,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to business needs.
The Assistant Technical Project Leader will manage formulation, specification, and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects. The role supports the delivery of these projects to market, ensuring global and local solutions are efficiently delivered into European supply chains and to customers.
This role supports innovation project managers on large, high/medium risk projects, coordinating formulation work and implementing formulation changes across a brand portfolio. It also supports packaging solutions with the packaging team.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the Manager/Technical Project Leader in project management across multiple projects. Deputize when needed. Ensure good communication with regions/countries.
* Manage innovation projects as global/regional TPL on small/low risk projects.
* Contribute to technical documentation, gathering input from cross-functional and regional teams. Highlight project risks and update stakeholders. Input formulation info into decision documents.
* Prepare documentation for laboratory technicians, such as batch sheets and data templates. Check and sign off gas sheets if trained.
* Act as formulation contact for projects, providing information to other functions/regions. Use creative problem-solving for formulation and project issues.
* Ensure packaging compatibility with formulation and customer requirements, meeting regulatory and sustainability standards.
* Manage packaging activities from primary to palletization, collaborating with partners.
* Complete code summaries to ensure materials can be ordered and Bill of Materials is accurate.
Key Requirements
* FMCG background preferred.
* Graduate caliber preferred, but GCSE Math, English, Sciences, or Engineering required.
* Experience in science/lab work; formulation development beneficial.
* Project management and claims development experience beneficial.
* Packaging development in FMCG beneficial.
