A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Remote Plan Checker to support their Building Control service. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to contribute to essential regulatory work from a remote setting, ensuring the delivery of safe and compliant construction projects across residential and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Review architectural plans and technical drawings to ensure compliance with Building Regulations
Identify discrepancies or issues within submitted plans and provide clear, constructive feedback
Liaise with architects, developers, and internal colleagues to support the planning and approval process
Provide professional advice on Building Control standards and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate records of plan checks and correspondence
Deliver timely assessments to support service performance targets
Remain up to date with current and emerging legislation and industry standards
Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with external stakeholders
Demonstrable experience in Building Control with strong knowledge of current Building Regulations
Proficiency in assessing technical drawings and construction specifications
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple priorities
Competency in using digital tools and platforms for remote plan checking
