Overview
Are you ready to take the lead in one of the most critical senior-level roles within the UK's data centre landscape? This is a unique opportunity to join a global leader in digital infrastructure and operations—an organisation at the forefront of innovation, scale, and mission-critical service delivery.
We are seeking a strategic and technically accomplished professional to serve as the Senior Site Manager / Critical Facilities Operations Lead, overseeing the operations of a large-scale data centre campus in the UK. This is the most senior operational management role in the UK and demands a proven leader who can foster a high-performance culture, ensure resilience, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily operations across a 24/7 mission-critical environment with direct oversight of hard and soft FM services.
* Manage a large, diverse in-house team alongside a strong, established leadership structure.
* Full accountability for site-level financials, including, CAPEX, cost Management and contract administration,
* Oversight and management of sub-contractors, vendors, and specialist service providers.
* Serve as the technical point of escalation for complex systems and incidents.
* Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
* Drive initiatives focused on energy efficiency, sustainability, and best-in-class engineering practice.
* Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and positive workplace environment.

Experience Required
* Extensive experience managing critical infrastructure, preferably within a data centre environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage electrical and mechanical systems in a high-availability, 24/7 operational setting.
* Proven track record in leading large technical teams and managing complex operations.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with CAPEX and Cost Management
* Background in liaising with regulatory and local authorities.
Ideal Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
* 10+ years in a senior operations, maintenance, or engineering leadership role.
* 4+ years in mission-critical or data centre installation management at the site level.
* Deep understanding of power, cooling, HVAC, UPS, generators, and associated infrastructure.
