A forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Havering is on the lookout for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing one-to-one and small group support to children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
This is a full-time, term-time role starting in September 2025, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful difference in a child’s school experience.
The Role:
You’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment that enables pupils to engage in learning. From de-escalating difficult moments to building long-term trust with students, your presence will help transform how children approach education.
Responsibilities:
• Support pupils with behavioural and emotional regulation needs
• Implement tailored behaviour management strategies and EHCP targets
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils
• Work alongside class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Help create an environment where all children can thrive and succeed
Requirements
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
• Has experience working with children with challenging behaviours or SEMH needs
• Is resilient, patient, and emotionally intelligent
• Can maintain calm and consistency in difficult situations
• Understands the importance of boundaries, structure and empathy
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
