Total hours per week: 40 Expected duration 42 Months Possible start date 02 Sep 2024 Date posted 07 Mar 2024 Apprenticeship level Advanced Level 3 (A level) Reference number VAC1000235660 Positions 7 available What you will do in your working day Working as part of our Fabrication Team, you will:- Learn to weld with several welding processes to International Industry recognised Standards such as ASME IX, BS EN ISO 9606-1 and AWS D1.1 Fabricate complex packages for the oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical and Nuclear and Hydrogen industries Learn how to read complex engineering drawings Tank Fabrication Vessel Fabrication Sheet metal work Mechanical maintenance Site installations The training you will be getting Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX) Level 3 comprises of: Duration approximately 40-45 months. Year 1.Block release. Typically starts with 3 months at the HWGTA Training Centre. Then 3 months in Company at KGD based at Rotherwas. Then 3 months back at the training centre then 3 months back in Company. Year 2. Work in Company 4 days a week 08:00-4:30 with 30 minute lunch (unpaid) and 20 minute break (paid). 1 day a week is back at the Training Centre continuing the academic side of the apprenticeship. Year 3. Continue to work in Company full time, HWGTA Assessors visit to measure/check progress. Year 4. Continue to work in Company full time, HWGTA Assessors visit to measure/check progress. At the end of the 4th year, and subject to completing all assignments to the requisite standard, signed off as a qualified Apprentice with a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing. You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment. Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed. There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme (through HWGTA ). What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship KGD has many opportunities for apprentices to progress within the company into other positions as experience and knowledge is gained. Any role within KGD is possible, many apprentices go on to fulfil management and Supervisor roles.
