About the role
We are seeking a motivated, highly organised and people oriented Senior Programmes Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to take up a post that has specific responsibility for the leadership of programme administration for a suite of new interdisciplinary programmes, including the flagship Natural Sciences programmes that launched in 2024. This is a key part of the King’s Interdisciplinary Science investment and brings together staff from across several faculties to deliver innovative new programmes. The postholder manages a team to establish and support the delivery of the programmes and plans and implements key processes to ensure an excellent staff and student experience.
The Senior Programmes Manager is a key role in the faculty, contributing to the development and delivery of faculty educational aims as well as supporting the wider university strategy and vision. The role holder works with the two other faculty Senior Programmes Manager roles, academic and professional services colleagues across faculties and departments, as well as central services to enhance and improve process and will lead on a range of projects across programme management activities in support of student and staff in a period of change.
The role is responsible for:
* The effective delivery of programme administration and education support for all programmes in the faculty, ensuring a consistent, high level of professionalism, and alignment with university and faculty strategies and priorities.
* Leadership of the programme administration staff in the faculty, developing and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders, networks and external partners.
* Monitoring and supporting delivery of high quality customer service through continual review and monitoring of adherence to indicators of service delivery.
* Anticipating and addressing service delivery issues, ensuring resources are fully utilised at times of peak demand and escalating when additional resource is needed
* Representing the faculty in wider university activities and committees, in support of the faculty’s interests and engaging with university functions.
Successful candidates will have a proactive approach to leadership with strong experience of line management and creating high performing motivated teams. They will have a good understanding of programme administration in Higher Education, a commitment to continuous improvement and excellent communication skills.
This is currently a hybrid role, and the role holder will spend at least two days of their working week on campus and part of the week working remotely.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until 20 January 2027. This post is to cover a secondment and can be offered as an internal secondment opportunity subject to agreement.
