Are you ready to make a real impact in your community and help shape the future of waste services for our Local Authority client? We’re looking for a motivated and community-focused Waste Management Officer to join their team and support the delivery of high-quality waste services in partnership with Biffa.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and maintain the performance of our waste contracts.
* Work closely with Biffa and internal council teams to identify and implement service improvements.
* Lead annual community engagement campaigns to promote green waste sign-ups.
* Represent the council at public events and liaise with residents.
* Collaborate with the Communications team to deliver recycling and waste initiatives.
About You
* Experience in waste management, recycling, or environmental services, ideally within local government or the commercial waste sector (e.g., Biffa, Veolia, SUEZ).
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Confident in planning and attending community events.
* Passionate about sustainability and service improvement.
