Responsibilities
Support the Head of Procurement by taking responsibility for formal procurement of goods and services, reviewing products and services used across the Trust and partnering organisations, ensuring best value is obtained and procurement activity achieves best value for money based on whole lifecycle costs, while complying with all Trust financial procedures and procurement directives.
Provide procurement and supply chain services to all Directorates/Divisions within the Trust.
Deliver measurable savings from revenue expenditure to support the Cost Improvement Programme.
Develop internal supply chain processes for the benefit of other departments.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills
* Good interpersonal skills: impact and influence
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to prioritise own workload
Training and qualifications
* Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Professional Diploma, or a degree in a business‑related subject, or equivalent experience
* 4 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths & English (grade C/4 or above)
Experience
* Experience of public sector procurement
* Working knowledge of tenders, quotes and procurement procedures, regulations, directives and contracts
* Accustomed to dealing with suppliers at all levels
* NHS procurement experience
* Stakeholder/Contract Management
Other Essentials
* Prepared to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week
* Must be prepared to become CIPS qualified
