Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and resilient Deputy Manager to join our award-winning therapeutic community in East Kent. This is a crucial, high-impact leadership role within one of our established Children’s Homes, known for providing 'Good' or 'Outstanding' rated residential services.
This permanent, full-time position (minimum 37.5 hours per week) is ideal for an experienced Deputy Manager or a motivated Senior Shift Leader looking to progress their career within a company committed to staff development.
Compensation & Rewards

Starting Salary: £43,678 per annum (all-inclusive).
*
Note: Salary includes two weekly sleep-in shifts (paid at £60 each) and a £1,500 yearly on-call payment.
*
Performance Bonus: £1,000 Bonus for achieving an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating.
*
Travel Allowance: Up to £40 per week.
Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient co-management of the home, supporting the Registered Manager in a demanding yet highly rewarding role:

Leadership: Assume day-to-day managerial oversight in the Registered Manager's absence, ensuring operational compliance.
*
Compliance & Quality: Implement and adhere to the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Care Standards, and SCCIF Guidelines.
*
Team Management: Provide effective leadership to the staff team, directing them in delivering person-centred care.
*
Staff Development: Conduct regular supervisions and participate in the annual appraisal process.
*
Safeguarding: Ensure full adherence to all Safeguarding Policy and Local Authority procedures.
*
Care Planning: Oversee and formulate/update placement plans, risk assessments, and positive handling plans.
*
On-Call: Participate effectively in the required on-call duty system.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:

Experience: Previous experience as a senior member of staff within a children’s residential care setting.
*
Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Service or equivalent.
*
Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations and Child Protection & Safeguarding legislations.
*
Driving: Must be able to drive and hold a current, full driving licence.
*
Age: Must be 21 years of age or over (Company Policy).
*
Qualities: Must be Resilient, motivated, calm, adaptable, and non-judgemental.
Desirable Skills
*
Previous experience in a Deputy Manager or Senior Shift Leader role.
*
Understanding and knowledge of a Therapeutic Approach to Childcare.
*
NVQ or Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Children’s Services or equivalent.
