Finance Business Partner
6 Month Contract | £525 - £540 per day (umbrella) | London, Hybrid
As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in driving accountability, cost control, and informed decision‑making. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective performance management of both direct and indirect costs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide financial challenge, assurance, and governance across supported directorates
Act as the CFO’s representative in monthly review meetings
Review and endorse Change and Investment Papers, ensuring risks, opportunities, and programme impacts are fully understood
Provide guidance on IFRS accounting treatment and support NAO audit requirements
Oversee month‑end close, year‑end preparation, and financial reporting
Deliver variance analysis, contract spend analytics, and programme board pack assurance
Review forecasts against Spending Review funding and recommend corrective actions
Required Skills & Experience
Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Experience operating in a complex environment, ideally within major projects or infrastructure
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
Proven ability to challenge forecasts, assess value for money, and ensure financial control
Knowledge of Government accounting (DEL/AME) and Managing Public Money
Skilled in ERP systems, data analytics tools, and advanced Excel

Day rate: £525–£540 per day (Umbrella)
Contract length: Initial 6‑month assignment
Location: London
Working pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Start date: ASAP
