Job Description
Aerial Platforms Ltd is looking for an experienced HGV Class 1/2 Driver with powered access or plant experience to join our team at our Scotland depot. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting powered access equipment to and from customer sites, ensuring safe, timely, and professional delivery and collection.
Key Responsibilities
* Equipment Transport: Safely operate an HGV Class 1/2 vehicle to deliver and collect powered access equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, etc.) between customer sites and depots.
* Loading & Unloading: Securely load and unload equipment using correct lifting and securing techniques to prevent damage during transit.
* Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, taking into account traffic, road restrictions, and customer schedules.
* Vehicle Checks: Carry out pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the Transport Manager.
* Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, including delivery notes and inspection reports, in line with company and legal requirements.
* Customer Service: Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers and colleagues.
* Health & Safety: Comply with all health and safety policies and regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, your team, and the public.
Requirements
* Valid HGV Class 1/2 (Category C) licence, Driver CPC, and digital tachograph card.
* Previous HGV driving experience, ideally transporting powered access or plant machinery.
* IPAF 3a & 3b / Load and Unload / Plant Mover qualifications preferred (training can be provided).
* Strong knowledge of road transport regulations.
* Excellent driving record with a strong commitment to safety.
* Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
