An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant Operations to join a highly respected organisation in Warwickshire. This pivotal role offers you the chance to play a key part in shaping the financial performance of a nationwide supply chain operation, working closely with senior leaders and operational teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of management accounts, driving insightful financial analysis, and supporting business growth through robust forecasting and budgeting processes.
Responsibilities of the Senior Management Accountant
* Take full responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting and period-end processes for the supply chain, ensuring timely, accurate reconciliation with financial statements.
* Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and KPI reports with clear commentary and actionable insights for both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Work with the Head of Operational Finance, Operations Finance Manager, and business leads to deliver forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans aligned with commercial goals.
* Deliver ad hoc analysis on supply chain spend, proactively identifying trends and constructively challenging performance.
* Support the Finance Senior Management Team by maintaining robust financial systems and controls around all supply chain-related processes, ensuring compliance with best practices and minimising risk of financial loss.
* Oversee supply chain-related balance sheet items (stock, accruals, prepayments, intercompany, and control accounts), ensuring accuracy and financial discipline.
* Act as the primary contact for external auditors on supply chain matters, managing audit requirements and ensuring smooth audits.
* Line manage and develop two part-qualified Assistant Management Accountants
What the successful candidate will bring
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant 3+ years PQE
* Demonstrated expertise in financial control including ledger accounting, reporting accruals, prepayments, provisions, intercompany accounting—and proven ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
* Extensive experience in financial planning, modelling and forecasting (P&L; balance sheet; cashflow), utilising advanced tools and techniques to support strategic decision-making.
* Experience managing staff - ideally including coaching or developing junior accountants—and fostering collaborative team environments focused on shared goals.
* Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build positive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups; ability to inspire trust while constructively challenging colleagues when necessary.
* Experience working closely with a Warehouse, logistics or supply chain environment
