Job Responsibilities
Lead the Education Transport and Fleet Management Services to ensure safe, efficient, and effective service delivery.
Develop and implement policies and processes to meet statutory responsibilities and manage budget pressures.
Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management, elected members, schools, and other stakeholders.
Support Strategic Commissioning in establishing a new framework for home-to-school transport.
Ensure contractor performance meets service standards and safeguarding measures.
Maintain an effective risk management framework for transport services.
Person Specifications
Must Have
Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience in managing Home to School Transport services.
Contract management skills.
Experience in writing processes and procedures to meet statutory transport regulations.
Knowledge of effective safeguarding procedures.
Experience in human and financial resource management.
Ability to work effectively in corporate and partnership settings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to Have
Background in providing transport services to vulnerable adults.
Experience of working at a managerial level within a local authority.
Experience in service development through co-production.
Experience in service transformation.
Experience of political environments, committees, and boards.
