About the opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Cost Engineer to join our growing team in London at an exciting time, playing a key role in helping us achieve our ambitious growth targets. Supporting one of our key Construction clients in the region, you will be responsible for developing and implementing key procurement and commercial strategies across a range of projects in our business.
In this role you will:
1. Managing cost engineers and estimators to develop both cost planning and pricing for the Civil Works Alliance
2. Feeding into the Head of Estimating on the project to ensure consistency in cost planning approach set out by the client.
3. Capable of producing various cost planning & assurance documentation that can be assured both internally and externally.
4. Stakeholder management to produce the Estimate e.g., planning, procurement etc.
5. Presenting, negotiating and justifying prices produced in an open and honest manner to both senior leaders within the business and/or external customers/partners.
6. Providing assurance support to wider estimating team to produce and develop the price, mentoring and supporting more junior members of the estimating team.
7. Monitoring and managing construction budgets through preconstruction including supporting change management.
8. Providing quantification support during cost planning and estimating activities.
9. Support preconstruction and delivery teams in periodically collating benchmarking data
About you Essential
10. Proficient in the use of Excel and similar software.
11. Excellent client-facing/communications skills
12. Infrastructure Main Contractor background ideally in the Civil engineering market.
13. Commercial or operational background considered.
Desirable
14. Experienced estimating background using Candy Estimating Software.
15. Experienced estimating background using RIB Cost X Quantification & Estimating Software.
16. Experience of working with the AACE principles of Estimating Class and associated maturity
17. Mobile and flexible
18. Chartered by relevant industry-recognised chartership e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB Etc
