Specialist Pharmacist for Surgery – Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
We have an exciting new opportunity to welcome a clinical pharmacist to our innovative and progressive Hampshire Hospitals Pharmacy team to support the surgical directorate, including the new Integrated Care System collaboration in the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre (HOC). This unique role allows you to develop your specialist skillset and advance your clinical skills.
Responsibilities
* Work in a patient‑facing role within surgical services and the HOC to support the clinical service.
* Gain experience and training to enhance advanced clinical and non‑clinical skills, supporting multidisciplinary care.
* Receive support from the HOC and Pharmacy teams, opportunities to develop and embed your career, and to make a difference to patients’ lives.
* Support the development and delivery of the Clinical Pharmacy Service to surgical services, including staff management in line with pharmacy objectives set by senior pharmacy leadership.
* Collaborate with the Lead Pharmacist for Surgery to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient service for all patients.
* Provide medicines optimisation service to the surgical division, focusing on the HOC.
* Act as an independent non‑medical prescriber in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act 2001, specialising in a relevant surgical area.
* Manage staff to ensure effective operation of services provided to the specialty.
* Share joint responsibility with other specialist and clinical pharmacists for overall delivery of services under supervision of the Lead Surgical Pharmacist.
