About the Role
Our Controlling team that works within our medical division focusing on global logistics management and business supply chain, is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Controller on a full-time, permanent, hybrid (3 days in the office 2 from home) basis based at our office in Willerby.
As Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for supporting product costing, logistics analysis and group reporting for the European distribution and warehousing part of the division.
Day-to-day, this role is focused on data interrogation and manipulation through Microsoft Excel, developing reports ready for presentation to stakeholders.
You will be a key part of the 3-person team, reporting to the Senior Controller, and liaising with colleagues - particularly in Germany, but also in north America as well as other parts of the world.
Our medical division became part of Essity when it bought BSN Medical, and we continue with our integration projects to ensure full system and process alignment, so it is a great time to join the team to support as this occurs. Interaction throughout the organisation with various stakeholders in production and commercial makes this role a great opportunity to develop knowledge in controlling within a large FMCG manufacturing environment.
We’re looking for people who embody our values, aren’t afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace. We’re always looking for ways to improve our products and ourselves. If this is you, we’d love to talk.
What You Will Do
1. Month end closing / General accounting - posting journals in SAP, reconciliations, preparation of Excel based management reports
2. Product costing and pricing calculations and data maintenance in SAP
3. Purchase price variance analysis & accounting
4. Freight analysis & cost centre accounting
5. Sundry billing & recharging
6. Support decision making process with financial calculation for respective stakeholders in Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain
Who You Are
With some experience of working in a controlling role, you must be part-qualified in a recognised Accounting qualification, such as CIMA, ACCA, or AAT.
An understanding of product costing would be an advantage, along with working with SAP or another ERP system.
You will be handling large data sets, so a strong analytical flare and a keenness to manipulate the data is key, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes of complex data.
You will need to be highly proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel, and be able to prioritise your work effectively to meet expectations.
Good communication skills - both written and verbal - is also essential as most liaising will be via email/phone/teams rather than face-to-face.
What We Can Offer You
This is a great opportunity to join a global company that has a local presence and is responsible for market leading wound care products in the UK such as Cutimed and Leukoplast. Along with a competitive salary and benefits package, we would also consider funding for your remaining studies.
