Year 4 Teacher & Lower Key Stage 2 Phase Leader – Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Salary: London Fringe MPS - UPS (£34,397 - £52,488 per annum) or £169 - £263 per day (depending on experience). Contract Type: Full-Time (Temporary to Permanent opportunities available). Start Date: September 2026 (Immediate start available for the right candidate).
The Role
You will deliver high-quality teaching in Year 4 while providing leadership across Lower Key Stage 2. You will play a key role in driving pupil outcomes, supporting staff, and contributing to school improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching and Learning
o Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to the KS2 curriculum.
o Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
o Assess and track pupil progress effectively.
o Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
* Leadership Responsibilities
o Lead and support the Lower KS2 phase to ensure high standards.
o Work with senior leaders on school improvement priorities.
o Support and develop colleagues within the phase.
o Contribute to curriculum development and consistency.
* Wider Contribution
o Work closely with parents and carers to support learning.
o Contribute to whole-school initiatives.
o Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times.
Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* KS2 teaching experience, ideally in Lower KS2.
* Strong classroom practice with proven pupil outcomes.
* Leadership experience or readiness to step into a phase leadership role.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
