About the Role
Merrydale Manor is a busy, award-winning wedding and events venue. We're looking for a Bar Supervisor to support the leadership of our bar teams and help keep service running smoothly during weddings and events.
This is a hands-on, floor-based role where you'll support the Assistant Bar Manager and Bar Operations Manager on event days, supervise bar staff, and make sure guests receive great service from start to finish.
What You'll Be Doing
During Events
* Support the Assistant Bar Manager with running bar service on the day
* Supervise bar staff during service, making sure everyone knows their role
* Monitor service flow, queues, and overall guest experience
* Step in early to deal with small issues before they become bigger problems
Leading by Example
* Set the standard on shift, professional, friendly, and organised
* Support and coach bar staff, especially newer team members
* Help keep energy, morale, and teamwork high during busy services
Bar Setup & Close-Down
* Assist with bar setup, stocking, and glassware preparation
* Ensure close-down, cleaning, and restocking are completed correctly
Standards & Compliance
* Follow licensing requirements, age checks, and venue procedures
* Flag any issues or concerns to the Assistant Bar Manager promptly
Important to Know
* You won't be responsible for pricing, stock ordering, payroll, or drinks planning with couples
* Decisions on the day are led by the Assistant Bar Manager, with overall oversight from the Bar Operations Manager
* This role is focused on great service and strong on-the-floor/Bar leadership, not admin
About You
* Experience working in a busy bar or events environment
* Comfortable leading a team during live service
* Calm, reliable, and guest-focused
* Available to work evenings and weekends
