About the Role
The Risk Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Head of Risk in delivering the risk management strategy.
Responsibilities include ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, managed, monitored, and reported in line with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
This role suits someone who is analytically minded, detail‑oriented, and eager to contribute to a strong risk culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate and partner with teams across the business to embed risk awareness, promote best practice, and foster a strong risk culture.
- Monitor & Support completion of risk assessments across business units, analysing operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic risks.
- Monitor risk events, ensuring appropriate remedial action and root cause analysis is undertaken.
- Prepare clear, insightful risk reports for senior management, committees, and regulatory stakeholders, including monitoring key risk indicators and Risk Appetite Metrics, and escalating emerging risks or control weaknesses.
- Understand risks across the business, escalating issues where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in risk management or a related analytical role within financial services preferred but not essential.
- General understanding of risk frameworks, regulatory expectations, and industry standards.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- A willingness to work towards IRM (Institute of Risk Management) or an equivalent Risk Management qualification.
