Full time, Flexible working. 37.5 hours per week (8-4 Monday - Friday). Job ref: 246-GYW8028813.

Site: HMP Norwich Town, Norwich. Salary: £49,387 - £56,515 gross per annum.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced qualified Psychological Therapist to join the integrated mental health and justice pathway team within HMP Norwich. The successful candidate will work within day care at HMP Norwich, a service designed to support individuals presenting with risks of self‑harm, suicide, and self‑destructive behaviours. The day‑care program is delivered in a safe and therapeutic setting separate from the prison wings, providing structured and creative psycho‑educational and therapeutic group interventions tailored to individual needs.


Main duties of the job

The service offers DBT, CBT and other psychological approaches to address mood stabilisation, anxiety, relationship management, emotional regulation, personality difficulties and trauma. The role involves working with men who may self‑harm, attempt suicide or experience high levels of anxiety or trauma/PTSD. Responsibilities include reducing self‑harm, self‑destructive and violent behaviour, working closely with partner agencies.

Qualifications

* Postgraduate diploma in CBT, CAT, family therapy or equivalent.


Registration

* Accreditation with BABCP or ACAT.


Experience

* Documentary evidence of continuing professional development.
* Group work in mental health.
* Training and ability to deliver other therapeutic approaches e.g. DBT, EMDR, IPT.


Knowledge

* Specialist knowledge of CAT/CBT protocols and treatments.
* Willingness to share skills, experience and promote patient care.
