About the Role
We are a shared legal service providing work for Wealden & Rother District Councils. The Legal Team delivers client‑focused, professional legal advice and support. We are looking for an experienced qualified lawyer to join our team as a Property Lawyer.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload and support the Team Leader: Property on major projects and transactions.
* Provide professional and timely legal advice on a range of property‑related transactions and projects.
* Play a key part in ensuring the Council fulfills its statutory obligations.
* Work collaboratively with other lawyers and internal clients to achieve the best outcomes for the Council.
Qualifications and Experience
* Significant experience in property law and related matters.
* Qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with a current practising certificate.
* Extensive experience in giving clear written and oral legal advice.
* Strong commercial acumen, communication skills and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
