However, the majority of this apprenticeship will be shop-floor based, focused on all aspects of the factory, warehouse and logistics departments. This position will require the successful applicant to be trained in every aspect of the manufacturing process from admin and checking specifications to press preparation and machine operation. Specific areas will include but not be limited to: Understanding and interpreting job bag information Understanding the intricacies of planning jobs Pre-press preparation, which will include ink mixing and plate mounting Operate a wide range of converting and printing machinery from 280 to 530 web widths Operate in-line turret rewinding machines Operate offline rewinding machines Packing goods for despatch both in-line and offline Have an understanding of the logistics in our despatch department Be aware of our Health and safety as well as the company environmental policy plus, our BRC accreditation and the rules and directives that it encompasses Have good time management skills Able to learn, retain and apply knowledge acquired through training, while maintaining an excellent level of attention to detail Be able to use basic IT for the purpose of fulfilling the role The training you will be getting Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 2 Print Operative Apprenticeship Standard The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their "off-the-job" requirement of the apprenticeship during their working hours. Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Lattice Labels and BPIF Training to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship through a structured training plan. You will be assigned a training coordinator who will work with you throughout your apprenticeship to ensure that you have the best training and support available Most training and studying will be a combination of regular site-based visits at the employer's premises and occasional remote delivery.
