Environmental Scientist - London
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Scientist to join a highly regarded, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in London. You'll be part of a dynamic and award-winning Land Quality team recognised for its innovative and sustainable approach to land remediation and brownfield regeneration.

The Opportunity
Working as part of the Land Quality team and reporting to the Land Quality Associate, you will support the delivery of contaminated land and environmental assessments across a wide range of redevelopment projects. You'll collaborate closely with in-house teams across Geotechnical, Civil, Structural, Development Planning, GIS, and Transport Engineering, contributing to multidisciplinary project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver Stage 1-3 contaminated land assessments and related documentation.
* Specify and manage ground investigations, including coordination with contractors and laboratories.
* Conduct data analysis, report writing, and risk assessments for contaminated sites.
* Develop and refine Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) using geological and hydrogeological data.
* Liaise with clients, regulators, and project partners to ensure timely, high-quality project outcomes.
* Apply an understanding of chemistry, hydrogeology, and environmental risk to practical site assessment and remediation.
* Contribute to sustainable land-use solutions, including soil re-use and ground gas assessment.
* Work collaboratively with in-house engineering teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
* 2-3 years' experience in environmental consultancy or contaminated land assessment.
* Technical proficiency in preparing land quality assessments and managing investigations.
* Strong data management, numeracy, and reporting skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Familiarity with CLEA methodology, ground gas assessment, and sustainable remediation principles.
* Competence with Excel, Microsoft Access, and other data analysis tools.
* BSc and/or MSc in Environmental Science or a related field.
* Graduate membership of a relevant professional institute (or equivalent experience).
* A commercially aware, client-focused approach with a genuine interest in contributing to a growing SME.
* Enthusiasm for professional development and engagement with industry bodies such as SoBRA.
