This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist with inpatient experience who is passionate about improving outcomes for adults in crisis.
Salary: Up to £165k dependant on experience
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Acute inpatient – mixed-gender, trauma-informed service
Location: Clacton On Sea, Essex
Your key responsibilities will be
* Acting as Responsible Clinician (RC) for a mixed-gender inpatient service
* Managing admission, treatment, and discharge in line with the Mental Health Act
* Leading the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and Internal Case Review (ICR) processes
* Supporting the delivery of NICE guidance and ensuring high clinical standards
* Working alongside a Lead Consultant Psychiatrist and junior doctors
* Supporting clinical governance and contributing to continuous service improvement
* Participating in the Consultant on-call rota
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise
* MRCPsych or equivalent
* Consultant-level experience in adult inpatient psychiatry
* Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility)
* Sound knowledge of current legislation, NICE guidance, and change management
