The Role: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the financial and contractual oversight of multiple civil engineering and groundworks projects. Reporting to the Commercial Manager/Director, you will lead procurement strategy, mentor junior QS staff, and drive commercial performance from pre-construction through final accounts. Key Responsibilities: Lead the commercial delivery of multiple civil engineering and groundworks packages. Oversee procurement and tender processes for subcontractors and materials. Manage and approve interim valuations, variations, and final accounts. Conduct robust cost control and cash flow forecasting across all active projects. Collaborate closely with site management and project teams to ensure budgets, schedules, and profitability targets are met. Prepare and present monthly commercial reports to senior management. Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost efficiencies. Mentor and support Junior and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors. Key Requirements: Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field. 6 years’ post-graduate experience in a civil engineering or groundworks environment. Proven track record managing large-scale infrastructure or groundworks contracts. Strong contractual knowledge (e.g., public works, RIAI, FIDIC). Excellent negotiation, reporting, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with construction software tools. Full driving licence and eligible to work in Ireland.
