Are you a Consultant, Specialist or Specialty Doctor who has an interest in working in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry? We are looking for a Psychiatrist to join our Bournemouth CAMHS team.
Responsibilities
As a Psychiatrist you will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team, alongside a clinical service manager, team leads and consultant colleagues. Medical leadership is valued within the team and there is recognition that effective leadership improves all aspects of a service. Clinical aspects of the post arise from an overall role to lead the team in the provision of effective assessment and treatment services for patients aged up to 18 years. All referrals to community CAMHS are screened and assessed by the Gateway team before being passed on to Specialist CAMHS if appropriate. As a senior professional, your role will naturally include activities supporting both direct clinical contacts, and service delivery.
It is essential that you will be expected to maintain Section 12 (2) and be an Approved Clinician.
This role is part‑time. Consultant – you must be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within six months of interview.
The role includes a focus on supporting improvements in the process of transition to adult mental health services as and when appropriate.
Benefits and Incentives
We can provide a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 if you are interested in moving to Dorset.
If you refer a friend or family member who is appointed and completes their probationary period, you will receive £500 reward payment for the introduction.
There would be scope to take up posts within the Medical Leadership Team, including Medical Education for 1 or 2 PAs if a non‑clinical role is of interest to you.
Working Environment
Everyday you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting difference and the privilege of working with young people in the local community. You’ll encounter stimulating challenges and endless rewards; opportunities to create change and transform lives; teams fuelled by collaboration; and a culture that fosters innovation and values a diverse and inclusive workplace.
We welcome discussions or informal visits to meet the team and see what the role entails. We are committed to enabling flexible or part‑time working and also welcome a discussion on how this could be achieved for you.
