Job Description
* Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
* Maintain and update employee records, including tax codes, pay rates, and hours worked.
* Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and management in a timely manner.
* Ensure compliance with statutory deductions such as pensions, tax, and national insurance contributions.
* Support the reconciliation of payroll data and resolve discrepancies where necessary.
* Prepare payroll reports and summaries for internal review and audits.
* Collaborate with the accounting and finance department to ensure smooth payroll operations.
* Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Payroll Officer should have:
* Previous experience in payroll processing or a related role within the accounting and finance field.
* Strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant legislation.
* Experience with weekly and monthly payroll
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll software.
* Strong organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
