About the role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help our customers feel the difference on every visit, delivering partner-led service and a passion for food that sets us apart. Your drive to go the extra mile will influence customers' impressions of the Waitrose brand and encourage loyalty. Night premium applies to any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 at £3.50 per hour, including existing Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.
Key Responsibilities
* Stock replenishment – ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place for customers.
* Fulfilling online customer orders ready for our drivers to deliver to customers’ doors.
* Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and applying markdowns to items nearing sell-by dates.
* Working with the wider shop team to support when needed, including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, fulfilling on-demand customer orders and more.
* Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential skills/experience
* Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
