Description
The Work Based Tutor will train apprentices across a wide range of skills, knowledge, and behaviors to enable them to pass the End Point Assessment. The tutor will develop and deliver highly inspirational teaching and training resources and will facilitate a structured learning programme, providing feedback during formative assessment periods. Using an e-portfolio system, the tutor will evidence and review progress across all aspects of the Apprenticeship. For some apprentices, there is an expectation that the tutor will support the development of maths and English.
It is the WBT’s responsibility to ensure that all components of the apprenticeship standard are completed accurately and timely.
Must have own transport.

Duties
Main Responsibilities and Duties
* Support learners on apprenticeship programmes to develop and evidence skills and competence in their roles.
* Support the recruitment of learners onto programmes to maximize caseloads through new business activity and maintaining current relationships.
* Ensure employers understand the training programmes and their roles and responsibilities – Job scans and pricing.
* Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments and recruit with integrity – skill scans.
* Participate in and support an inspirational learner induction.
* Manage learners through the initial six weeks and confirm or redirect to appropriate qualifications.
* Undertake reviews every 10-12 weeks with learners and employers, embracing all aspects of the E-Portfolio system including the individual learning plan (ILP) with SMART targets.
* Monitor and support Off the Job learning, ensuring accurate recording and progress.
* Monitor learner risk status and apply interventions as appropriate.
* Review learner progress with employers and provide timely feedback.
* Monitor caseload performance and address concerns through appropriate channels.
* Ensure all teaching, learning, and assessment adhere to quality assurance processes.
* Deliver training and assessments to meet employer and learner needs and awarding standards.
* Ensure learners are prepared for End Point Assessment.
* Manage learner behaviour, discipline, attendance, and timekeeping.
* Develop resources and maintain links across the College.
* Comply with quality assurance requirements.
Teaching, Learning, and Assessment
* Deliver inspiring teaching and assessment to promote learner success.
* Embed English and Maths into vocational delivery up to Level 2.
* Produce detailed schemes of work and lesson plans.
* Develop innovative assessment methods to meet standards and learner needs.
* Create assessment strategies for timely learner success.
* Produce high-quality resources and provide effective feedback.
* Manage learner performance tracking and conduct examinations following regulations.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Qualifications
Essential: Minimum Level 3 qualification relevant to the skills qualification; Maths/English Level 2.
Desirable: Assessor qualification (D32/33/A1); Internal Verification Qualification (D34/V1).
Experience
Essential: Extensive relevant industrial experience.
Desirable: Negotiating with employers and learners; experience with learning technologies and e-portfolio.
Specialist Knowledge
Essential: Knowledge of the industry, current practices, Apprenticeships Standards, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding.
Desirable: Knowledge of industry education, up-to-date funding.
IT Skills
Essential: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications; ability to use technology to improve efficiency.
